Hello.  John McCarthy here. I am a Chicago based investor generalist: not an expert in any one area, but a wide breadth of experience in many, many areas.

 

For years now, I have had the privilege of interviewing thousands of money managers.  I tend to see the world through their eyes, and I always learn a lot.  Impressed am I by the quality of experience and information coming at me.

 

Often times, I wish I could record my conversations, but that would not work, as people understandably change when they know they are being observed.  So, especially during the pandemic, I began writing out questions for people I know well.  I know what questions to ask them that they can answer really well.  Also, playing Twenty Questions is fun.  I often find myself disappointed in the quality of my questions on the fly.

 

Thus, the product here I call “Twenty Good Questions”.  I think hard about what to ask, and I ask the respondents to take as much time as they like, and write as much or as little as they want.  I hope you agree this is quality stuff.
